San Diego offers many beautiful locations for photoshoots. Whether you are visiting from out of town or you are local, these popular San Diego photoshoot locations are some of my favorites and are my biggest recommendations for your next photography session. From sandy beaches to wide open fields, I’ve provided some great locations below. I know that there are many more, but these are just some of my favorites!
Torrey Pines State Beach
Torrey Pines State Beach is definitely a favorite for many people. The beautiful cliffs on the beach make for a beautiful backdrop and looks amazing at sunset.
Coronado Beach
Coronado Beach is a very popular photoshoot location. Many people come here to visit or stay at Hotel Del Coronado and I receive many inquiries to shoot at this location. This beach photo location is one of my favorites because there is a lot of variety here for photos. The beach has a section with sand dunes which add beautiful texture to the sand. You can also take pictures in front of the Hotel Del as well.
Windansea Beach
Another favorite beach photoshoot location of mine is definitely Windansea Beach. This is beach is smaller and a bit more secluded than the other beaches I mentioned above. I love all the rocks here which add lots of texture to the photos.
Iron Mountain
If you are looking for a mountain, field photo location, you cannot go wrong with Iron Mountain in Poway. I love this location so much because it looks amazing at golden hour. If you are looking for a spot with amazing light, this spot is it. This spot is also perfect for kids who love to run around and explore.
Los Penasquitos Ranch House
Are you looking for a rustic spot with a ranch vibe? Penasquitos Ranch House is perfect for that. This San Diego photoshoot location is one of my favorites because there are so many photo worthy spots here. This location includes a historic adobe house, cactus, beautiful trees, fences, a pond, and wide open fields. This spot has it all and its definitely one of my favorites.
Balboa Park
Last but not least on the San Diego best photoshoot location list is none other than the beautiful Balboa Park. Balboa Park is definitely a popular spot. It is full of many photo worthy spots. This location is packed with beautiful gardens, architecture, ponds and this amazing tree. But just a heads up that this location gets really crowded on the weekends so a weekday session here is usually best.
